When the sun sets, families and scout groups can come to Heritage to enjoy a family movie under the stars! Each week a new movie is featured on the giant outdoor screen, and families are invited to bring chairs, blankets, and picnic baskets to the show. You can also purchase freshly popped popcorn, candy, and beverages before and during the movie at our concession stand! There will also be a special activity featured before each movie, so be sure to arrive early for a night of fun! Ticket prices: Member Youth: $4, Member Adult: $5, Non-Member Youth: $5, Non-Member Adult: $6.
 
As a special treat, your family can register for the Talk Like a Pirate Day program on September 19 from 5:30 – 7 pm as a combined ticket for the program and the movie afterwards to make it a whole night of pirate adventure! Please see the description for Talk Like a Pirate Day below.

The Bee MovieBee Movie (Rated PG) – September 5
Barry B. Benson, a bee who just graduated from college, is disillusioned with his only job prospect, honey. When he ventures outside of the hive he breaks a cardinal rule and talks to a human, a florist named Vanessa, and is shocked to find out that humans have been stealing the bee’s honey for centuries and decides to sue them in this animated comedy.

The Wizard of OzWizard of Oz (Rated G) – September 12
Kansas girl Dorothy Gale and her dog, Toto, are whisked away by a tornado into the magical land of Oz in this much loved musical adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s classic novel. Dorothy joins the Tin Man, the Scarecrow, and the Cowardly Lion on an adventure down the Yellow Brick Road to persuade the Wizard to help her find her way home. In honor of “International Talk Like a Pirate Day,” join us as the beloved characters created by Sir James M. Barrie come alive once more in this adventure for all ages. The now adult Peter Pan must return to Neverland to rescue his children from the nefarious Captain Hook. Hook is the story of innocents imperiled and innocence regained, of a wondrous place populated by mermaids and fairies, and of the quest to find the child in all of us. Talk Like a Pirate DayTalk Like a Pirate Day

Ahoy me buccaneers! Use yer deadlights, matey, and look at yer calendar. September 19 be “International Talk Like a Pirate Day,” and Heritage is the place to celebrate! Leave yer landlubber days aft, go “on the account” and join the jolly pirate crew. See the Pirates of New England exhibit like never before, with a special tour and discussion time with pirate expert Steven O’Neil, learn the secret language of the pirates, make a pirate costume, sing a sea chantey or two, and find the hidden treasure! After the program, head over to the Outdoor Concert Stage to enjoy the Family Movie Night Under the Stars special piratefeature, Hook, starring Robin Williams! This exhibit will be closed on October 31, so don’t miss the last chance for Heritage pirate adventure. Fair winds, lads and lassies!
