Come to Heritage to hone your digital photography skills. Professional photographer Michael Dallaire will lead students through this two-part workshop, which will cover everything from composition and lighting to post processing techniques and printing.

The first session will be held at Heritage Museums & Gardens in the Auto Museum and will explore tips and techniques for photographing objects or “studio photography.” This will be a rare “behind the ropes” opportunity to photograph Heritage’s autos as well as other collection objects. Introduction to various lighting types and techniques, color balance and white balance will be discussed.

The second session will be held at the Computer Lab at the Cape Cod Community College. Each participant will be asked to bring four to six images to work on at their own computer station. Advance instruction using Adobe Photoshop CS3, camera raw adjustments, color balance, cropping, applying text or other special effects and printing preparation will be covered.

Mr. Dallaire began his career as a freelance photographer in Berlin, Germany and continued as a photographer for General Electric Company in Pittsfield, MA. He has exhibited his work internationally and teaches digital photography seminars at Cape Cod Community College. His work is featured on many Heritage Museums & Gardens publications.

Knowledge of your personal digital camera is required. A camera that can be manually overridden, a tripod and off-camera flash are preferred but not necessary. Each session will include a helpful “question and answer” segment. Please bring your digital camera’s instruction manual to both sessions and brown bag lunch for April workshop only. Register for one workshop or sign up for both of these complimentary educational opportunities to launch your digital photography skills to the next level!
