The summer heats up with an evening of ‘harp’ and Blues. Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish will play diverse musical styles of this genre - from a spirited walking blues, to swing and barrelhouse blues. This Martha’s Vineyard group focuses on a wide variety of rootsy, spare, driving tunes that make for good listening bluesy music sure to get you out of your seat! Then blues legend James Montgomery will take the stage and ‘bring it home.’ Detroit native plays with authority as he should having learned form the masters – James Cotton, John Lee Hooker and Jr. Wells – at the legendary “Chessmate.” Since that time, Montgomery has recorded six albums and has toured with many major artists, including Aerosmith, Bonnie Raitt, Bruce Springsteen, the Allman Brothers, Steve Miller and others. Montgomery has carried on the tradition and continues to be a vital presence in Blues as one of the dynamic performers on the scene. Join us for these energetic live performances!
