Girl Scouts are invited to join us on Saturday, March 6 and Saturday, March 13 from 9:30am—3:30pm for Heritage Museums & Gardens’ 7th Annual Founder’s Day Celebration! Our friendly and experienced staff will be leading two programs on March 6 for Daisies and Brownies, and two programs on March 13 for Juniors. Troops not only complete all the requirements for the badges in one visit, but also explore museum buildings and ride on the antique carousel! Badge themes listed below.
The fee for the entire day is $14 per scout and $14 per participating sibling, with museum admission included at no additional charge. Two adults are admitted free of charge and additional chaperones will be $8 per person. Participants are responsible for bringing their own lunch. Please inquire about half day rates. Fee includes a special Heritage patch!
Registration is required and space is limited. Registration deadline is February 26, 2010. PROGRAM THEMES:
DAISY:
Whistle a Tune: Daisies will perform silly sound experiments that at times will seem magical before listening to various pieces of music while creating instruments to play along.
Ahoy!: Join the Heritage sailing crew as we explore the area’s rich history of sailing and whaling. Daisies will handle real artifacts, play games, dress up, and complete a craft project.
BROWNIE:
Movers: Using our Folk Art collection of weathervanes and objects that fly, Brownies will create several projects and perform various experiments that will get everyone moving!
Science in Action: Put on your lab coat and get ready to make some gak, create colors, design unique butterflies, and solve magnet mysteries!
