Saturday, March 13, 2010
9:30AM - 3:30PM
Girl Scouts are invited to join us on Saturday, March 6 and Saturday, March 13 from 9:30am—3:30pm for Heritage Museums & Gardens’ 7th Annual Founder’s Day Celebration! Our friendly and experienced staff will be leading two programs on March 6 for Daisies and Brownies, and two programs on March 13 for Juniors. Troops not only complete all the requirements for the badges in one visit, but also explore museum buildings and ride on the antique carousel! Badge themes listed below.
The fee for the entire day is $14 per scout and $14 per participating sibling, with museum admission included at no additional charge. Two adults are admitted free of charge and additional chaperones will be $8 per person. Participants are responsible for bringing their own lunch. Please inquire about half day rates. Fee includes a special Heritage patch!
Registration is required and space is limited. Registration deadline is February 26, 2010. To register or for further information about the additional programs we offer year-round, please contact Kristen Hoeker, Manager of Family and Community Programs, at 508-888-3300, ext. 159 or khoeker@heritagemuseums.org.
JUNIOR PROGRAM THEMES:
Making Music: Juniors will handle and hear various instruments and music pieces while playing along, conducting, and hearing the history behind the music. The program will finish with the girls putting on a concert!
Drawing and Painting: Using our Folk Art Gallery as inspiration, participants will mix colors, paint in unique ways (no brushes!), create modern art, perform line experiments, and as a team create a mural.
