In honor of both Arbor Day and Earth Day, Heritage Museums & Gardens is
hosting an exciting event for all ages, Earth Celebrations. Tour our tree collections at 11am and 3pm with our horticulture staff, partake in a tree scavenger hunt, sculpt with natural objects, build a self-propelled boat out of a milk carton, play a game of “recycle relay,” participate in our family green-themed tour at 12:45pm, get your face painted by international artist Kara Andrews from Art on the Spot, explore more about green living from community vendors and get a sneak peek at elements from our newest feature Hidden Hollow: A Nature Discovery Center. From 11:30am – Noon and 1:30 – 2pm, Cape Cod African Dance & Drum, including ENTRAIN's Sam Holmstock, will offer an exciting interactive family show, with authentic West African dance, drumming and song. The audience can join in on the drumming and dance, and the whole family can take something very special home with them: lively African rhythm! As you leave Heritage, be sure to pick up your free tree seedling to take home and plant! If it rains, we will simply move all activities indoors so no one will miss out on the fun! All activities are free with museum admission.
