Boston Flower & Garden Show
Wednesday, March 24, 2010 to Sunday, March 28, 2010
Although the show is over, Heritage is pleased to announce that it was a great success! Over 67,000 people attended this 4-day event filled with magnificent gardens and was a true respite from the March rains!
With the help of Paul Miskovsky of Miskovsky Landscaping, Heritage created a display that featured our 1915 Ford Model T Roadster
Pickup (shown at right) and some fabulous blooms indigenous to our gardens.
Among the 30 professionally crafted gardens, the Heritage-Miskovsky collaboration was honored with the prestigious Edmund V. Mezitt Award presented by the Massachusetts Horticultural Society for a superior display using azaleas or rhododendrons reliably winter hardy in central New England (USDA Zone 6 or colder) and forced by the exhibitor. Over the course of the past 86 years, the Mezitt family has developed Weston Nurseries into one of the largest and most diverse nurseries in New England. Edmund Mezitt devoted much of his life to hybridizing rhododendrons, including the well known P.J.M. Rhododendron. The garden displayed an array of pink and white azaleas and rhododendrons which complimented our Model-T Roadster and represented our grounds perfectly. It was a fantastic event to kick-off our 41st season!
