Visitor Information
Heritage is famous for its Dexter Rhododendrons that bloom late May into early June. The beautifully landscaped grounds are a naturalized woodland park on the edge of upper Shawme Pond. A Shaker-style round barn houses the J. K. Lilly III Antique Automobile Collection with its stunning display of antique automobiles. The American History Museum hosts an impressive collection of military miniatures, antique firearms, and the distinguished bird carvings of master carvers A. Elmer and Cleon Crowell. An operating hand-carved carousel and many of America's most distinguished artists' works are on exhibit in the Art Museum.
Heritage Museums & Gardens has miles of walking paths and three museums featuring American Art. Visitors are welcomed to bring their own lunch, although no alcoholic beverages are allowed.
Heritage is going green! With the help of our visitors we can reduce our carbon footprint by limiting our gas shuttle buses to weekends and special events only. Of course, we will accommodate our visitors with disabilities by providing golf cart transportation whenever necessary. Please call the Admissions Office at 508.888.3300 ext. 142 on behalf of a visitor when transport is needed.
